Arthur James Robertson, affectionately known to many as Jim, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026.
A proud veteran, Jim served six years in the Army National Guard, a commitment through which he exemplified honor and dedication. Beyond his military service, he was a man deeply connected to life's simple joys and pleasures. Jim loved going to car shows, which he joyfully attended alongside his son Tim, creating moments that spoke volumes of their close relationship. Equally spirited, he found great delight in hunting and fishing. His shared evenings watching "Live PD" with his daughter Amanda were a testament to his love for family time and shared interests. Jim spent many moments playing and resting with his cherished fur babies Tallie and Little Grey.
Jim’s family was the cornerstone of his existence, and he always cherished every moment spent with them. He shared forty years of marriage with his beloved wife, Pam, who stood by his side through all seasons of life. Together, they nurtured their children, Amanda Robertson and Tim Robertson, instilling values of kindness and strength. Family gatherings were enriched by the presence of Jim’s siblings—Paula (Rich) Stemmerich, Kaye (Dan) Luther, Tom Robertson (companion Erin) , Martha Sleasman (companion Harry), and Brian (Tanya) Spangler—as well as extended family members including his Aunt Donna McLean, sister-in-law Denise, mother-in law Nancy Highberger, brother-in law Mark Kubicek, other brothers and sisters in law, and other uncles and aunts. His legacy also lives on through nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur James and Martha Robertson, as well as by Ray F. Highberger and Kay Stemmerich, his parents-in-law. He also fondly remembered grandparents Allen and Fern McLean and brother-in-law Tom Sleasman, who have gone before him.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses whose compassionate care provided support during Jim’s final days who fondly referred to him as “King Arthur”.
Visitation services to honor Jim's life will be held on April 9, 2026, at the Snyder-Green Funeral Home located at 402 E Church St., Ligonier, PA 15658. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow on April 10, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, with a graveside service to be held at Snowball Cemetery with Military Honors followed by a family meal back at the family home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Jim's memory be made to the Snyder-Green Funeral Home.
