Carol L. King, 58, of Ligonier died Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at home. She was born in Tampa, FL to Marthelle D. Lowen and the late Paul G. Lowen, Jr. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward E. King.
Carol is survived by her mother, Marthelle D. Lowen; her aunt, Mary Ann (Ronald) Ackerman; uncles, Leonard D. (Bonnie) Lowen and Robert C. (Cindi) Lowen; mother-in-law, Jean A. King; father-in-law, Edward R. King; sister-in-law, Rebecca J. King; brother-in-law, Matt C. Costello; and six cousins.
Carol was an antiques dealer in local shops. She was an accomplished artist and loved travelling, camping, and photographing nature with her husband throughout the country; they especially enjoyed travelling our Western States. Much of their work was published in many prominent magazines and calendars. Her other love was her cats.
Carol’s family wishes to thank the Excela Hospice Nurses for their outstanding care and compassion.
A visitation in honor of Carol will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10:30 AM until time of funeral service at 12 PM, at Snyder-Green Funeral Home located at 402 East Church Street, Ligonier, PA. Minister George Umphlett will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a local cat rescue. Interment will be at a later date in historic Townsend House Cemetery, Pasco County, Florida in her ancestral family plot.
