Catherine Mignogna

In loving memory of Catherine Mignogna:

Catherine Mignogna, age 95,  a beloved resident of Ligonier, PA, has peacefully passed away at home on March 2nd, 2024. She was born on December 12, 1928, in Trafford, PA . The beloved daughter of Peter and Mildred (Evanovich) Miholovich.  Catherine led a remarkable life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Catherine's life was one marked by warmth and generosity. She found joy in the simple pleasures of reading, gardening, and hosting gatherings for loved ones during holidays. A skilled cook renowned for her delicious spaghetti and ice cream rolls, Catherine's culinary creations brought people together and created lasting memories.

Her passion extended to her work as a nurse, where she touched countless lives with her care and kindness. Catherine attended every sporting event that involved her family and shared their enthusiasm for all sports.

A proud Serbian woman, Catherine was devoted to her heritage and an active member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, shaping her values of compassion and service to others.

Catherine is survived by her sons, William (Helen Macneil) of The Villages, FL, Kathleen (Scott) Platos of Ligonier,  David (Susan) Mignogna of Ligonier,  and Kenneth Mignogna of Ligonier; grandchildren Nicholas Mignogna of Pagosa Springs, CO and Garrett Mignogna of Pittsburgh, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

She is preceded in death by her baby daughter Rhonda Lee and siblings Peter, Joseph, Eli, John and Mitchell Miholovich; sisters Angeline Vracar, Mary Visnic, Diane Mireles, Dorothy Pugliano and Mildred Adams.

The visitation services for Catherine will be held at Snyder-Green Funeral Home in Ligonier on March 5th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A prayer service will be officiated by Father Stefan Djoric at the Snyder - Green Funeral Home at 7PM. 

A Visitation will take place at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church in Monroeville on March 6th at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Internment to follow at Grandview Cemetery in North Versailles.

Catherine Mignogna's legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was truly cherished by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Catherine's memory to St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church.
