Charles A. Shadron, 91, of Ligonier, passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, at his home in Derry. He was born Sept. 27, 1934, to the late Albert "Mike" and Dorothy Shadron.
Charles' love of golf started early in life with his first job as a caddy at Rolling Rock Club in his hometown of Ligonier, where his father and mother worked as well. Charles graduated from Robert Morris University with a business degree and spent the majority of his career as a supervisor at Owen's Illinois in the state of New York. He retired to The Plantation in Leesburg, FL, a golf community, where he continued his love of golf.
Charles returned to Ligonier Valley to care for his mother, where he enjoyed the last 24 years with his wife, Kay, his family, and lifelong friends, who will all miss him dearly. Charles was known by all for his incredible sense of humor and his willingness to lend a hand or an ear to anyone in need.
Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Shadron, and son, Bryan Shadron. He is survived by his dedicated and loving wife, Kaywin Shadron; grandchildren, Charles and Emily Shadron of Syracuse, NY, Johnathon of NC, and Jana Reynolds and Andrew of Greensburg; daughter-in-law, Carol Shadron of Syracuse, NY; and stepson and daughter-in-law, James and Kim Menoher of Stahlstown.
A visitation in honor of Charles' life will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, and from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, at SNYDER-GREEN FUNERAL HOME located at 402 East Church St., Ligonier. Pastor Vickie Lynch will officiate. Burial will be at Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
