Christopher Dean Piper, 53, of Latrobe died August 24, 2025 at his home. Born April 8, 1972 in Latrobe, he was one of two sons to Carl D. and the late Donna L. (Bennett) Piper.
Chris was a skilled mechanic. He worked at Laughlintown Garage and most recently, Steel City Auto for the past four years. From the age of 19, he dedicated himself to serving his community as a volunteer fireman with the Chestnut Ridge Fire Department. He was also an active member of the New Alexandria Lions Club, where he faithfully served for 25 years as the truck puller at local demolition derbies. Chris's love of motorsports extended beyond his own garage, he was a proud member of the Wesco Four-Wheel Drive Club and spent four years as a respected tech official at Latrobe Speedway. His commitment to service and his passion for engines and racing were a defining part of his life and character.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his sons, Chase Andrew (Autumn Mardis) Piper and Wyatt Dean Piper; grandchildren, Charles Dean Piper and Delilah Rose Piper; brother, Daniel (Twanya Closson) Piper; and nephew, Dylan Piper.
A visitation in honor of Chris' life will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm at Snyder-Green Funeral Home located at 402 East Church Street, Ligonier, PA, where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Cook Township.
