Elaine (Nicely) McKlveen, a cherished daughter of Ligonier, Pennsylvania, entered eternal rest on November 25, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on October 19, 1946, Elaine was a beacon of light and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She spent her life cultivating relationships, nurturing laughter, and fostering a strong sense of community.
Elaine's heart was as vast as her interests. She loved traveling, spending quality time with her family, and giving back to her community through dedicated volunteer work with the Girl Scouts of America and 4-H Youth Clubs. Her devotion extended beyond her immediate family, as she embraced all those in her life with care and compassion. Known for her great sense of humor, Elaine brought joy to every gathering and conversation, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she met.
Family was Elaine's greatest treasure. She is survived by her loving daughter, Becky Harman, and her devoted son, David McKlveen. Elaine was a proud grandmother to her beloved grandsons, Travis and Cory Harman, who brought her immense joy and accompanied her on numerous adventures, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Elaine's dedication to her faith and community was evident in her role as a member and historian at the Laughlintown Christian Church. In this capacity, she offered guidance and inspired many through her unwavering commitment to her beliefs, serving as a model for others. Her passion for football, particularly as a faithful Steelers and Penn State University fan, brought her joy and camaraderie with friends and family alike.
Elaine is reunited in heaven with her husband, Lee H. McKlveen, her brother-in-law Craig McKlveen, and her beloved parents, Glenn and Gail Nicely. Their spirits will forever intertwine in the love they shared during their time together.
A viewing to honor Elaine's memory will take place on December 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Laughlintown Christian Church located at 1345 US-30, Laughlintown, PA 15655. This will be followed by a memorial service celebrating her life, commencing at 6:00 PM and concluding at 7:00 PM.
Elaine’s generous spirit and loving presence will be profoundly missed. We take comfort in the memories she created, the love she shared, and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind.
