Fredrick D. Tenney Sr.

Fredrick D. Tenney Sr. 79 of Ligonier passed away at his home on October 21, 2026. He was born June 9, 1947 in Ligonier, PA to the late Willis E. Tenney Sr. and Ida M. Tenney.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life Terry L. (Taylor) Tenney in June 2026, his brother Albert Tenney, sister in law Gail Tenney, his in laws Robert F. Taylor, Dorothy M. Taylor, and a brother in law Robert D. Taylor Sr.

He was a graduate of Ligonier Valley School. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Westinghouse and ICI in Derry. He also worked as a mechanic at the former Ligonier Gulf Station. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Nascar Cup Racing, and WWE wrestling.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, who he called his greatest blessing.

He married the love his life on October 1, 1976, in Winchester, VA. They renewed those vows on May 27, 2026. Just 11 days before her passing.

He is survived by his daughter Angela (Jerry) Alan of Latrobe, son Fred Jr. (Amanda) of Ligonier. His three grandchildren Jennifer (Gerald) Payne, Emilee Alan, and Daniel Tenney. His brother Willis Jr. and wife Joan, sister Ellie Pennington, and a sister in law Diane Taylor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Independence Hospice Care and his caregivers for all their love and support over the last several years.

There will be no public visitation or service. Interment will be private at a later date.
