Helen E. Tobias

Helen E. (Simrock) Tobias, 87, of Ligonier, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, under great care at The Grove in Latrobe. 

She was born November 22, 1934 in Swissville, PA, daughter of the late Raymond and Helen (Walters) Simrock. Helen was a dedicated member of the Ligonier VFW Post 734 Auxiliary. She cherished creating irreplaceable memories with her family and friends. Helen spent countless amount of hours loving and helping to raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved her 1966 Ford Mustang. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Tobias and sister-in-law, Barbara Simrock. Helen is survived by two daughters; Marian Toner (William) of Latrobe, Alice Shuey (Steve) of Greensburg. Four sons; David Tobias (Gail) of Latrobe, Daniel Tobias (Beth) of Youngstown, Joseph Tobias of Ligonier, Anthony Tobias (Lisa) of Ligonier. Her brother Raymond Simrock Jr. and sister, Judy Simrock of San Diego, CA. Two nephews; Richard Simrock (Julie) of Marysville, WA and RJ Simrock of San Diego, CA. Twelve grandchildren; William Toner, Jennifer Lyons, Tiffany Tobias, Corey Tobias, Bailey Tobias, Kelsey Stickle, Garrett Tobias, Cameron Tobias, Carley Markle, Steven Shuey, Jessica Schober and Jamie Piper. Ten great grandchildren; Dunavin Graham, Blake Markle, Colby Markle, Quinn Toner, JJ Stickle, Luke Stickle, Owen Schober, Brody Schober, Cooper Piper and Blake Piper.
