Henry Kunkle

Henry R. Kunkle, age 79, of Stahlstown passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Ligonier Gardens Personal Care & Retirement Home. Born February 28, 1946 in Ligonier, he was the son of the late Frances "Wink" (Clark) Coleman and the late James Kunkle, and the step-son of the late James Coleman.

Henry was a graduate of Ligonier High School Class of 1964 and spent much of his career with Newcomer Products. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors and could often be found hunting or out on a motorcycle ride. He was a true enthusiast of classic and antique cars. Most of all, he cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.

Henry is survived by his wife of 61 loving years, Kathy (Brant) Kunkle; daughters, Kerrie Bizup, Kimberley (Thomas) Altimus, and Jenny (Dan) McDowell; grandchildren, Matthew (Andrea) Bizup, Daniel (Jamie) Bizup, Nicholas (Brittany) Bizup, Jeremy (Sarah) Bizup, Grace (Nicholas) Zimmerman, Seth (Alexandra) Altimus, Christopher (Danielle) McDowell, Corey (Kim) McDowell, and Lukas (Hannah) McDowell; and great-grandchildren, Natalie, Carter, Devon, Ryan, Waylon, Willow, Wilder, Connor, Isaac, Freya, Joanna, Miriam, Kace, Knox, Harper, Grayson, Maxine, and Paisley.

In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his son, Jason A. Kunkle; and brother, William Coleman.
