Irene E. Hart, a vibrant spirit whose essence was woven into the tapestry of those she loved,
peacefully departed this world on August 5, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on October 14, 1929,
as Irene Barndt, she became a remarkable woman whose legacy is marked by deep love for her
family and a passion for creativity.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she leaves behind her sons, Roger (Judy) Hart, Jeff
(Debbie) Hart, Ira Hart, and Matthew (Laurie) Hart, along with her daughter, Kelly (Russell)
Ziolko. Each of her children carries their mother’s wisdom and tenderness, which have guided
them throughout their lives. Alongside them are the many grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.
Irene is survived by her brother, Ralph (Helen) Barndt, who she shared a special bond along
with laughter and cherished memories and special friends, Peggy Barnhart, Karen Wallace and
Rachel Dillon.
She is predeceased by her parents Ira and Pearl Barndt, her husband of 45 years Curtis B. Hart
and many brothers and sisters.
Irene was a woman of diverse passions—woodworking and painting were not mere hobbies but
extensions of her creative soul. As an artist, she brought to life the beauty she saw all around
her, crafting pieces that revealed her unique perspective. Members of the Oak Grove Church of
Christ held her in high regard, valuing her contributions and spirit within their community.
In her presence, time spent with family transformed into treasured memories, each gathering
infused with laughter and light. Her legacy is a garden of love, one that will continue to bloom
in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were privileged to know her.
As we reflect on the life of Irene E. Hart—a woman who deeply understood the beauty of family
and the joy of creation—we celebrate not only her journey but the indelible mark she left on
our lives. Though she has completed this chapter, her spirit will remain a guiding force,
whispering tales of love, artistry, and unwavering strength. Irene will be sadly missed but
remembered with fondness and gratitude, forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved
her.
Thanks to the Staff at Concordia at Bethlen Personal Care and Concordia Hospice for all the love
and wonderful care they have given to Irene and her family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
