Lugene Wiley

Lugene (Heiser) Wiley, 70, of Ligonier, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025. She was born December 4, 1954, in Johnstown to Eugene Heiser Sr. and the late Lois (Flowers) Heiser.

Lugene was a lifelong member of the Waterford Christian Church. She began her working career at Bev’s Floral Shoppe in Johnstown, and spent nearly a decade working at the Ligonier Sheetz, a job she loved and built many relationships through. Lugene also worked at Bethlen Home Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation and L & S Machine. Her greatest joy and most cherished moments were those spent with her beloved granddaughters, planting flowers and crafting.

Lugene is survived by her loving daughters, Michele Wiley, of Ligonier, and Julianne (Michael) Tomlinson, of Ligonier; and her three loving granddaughters, Macie, Lydia, and Paisley Tomlinson; siblings, Evette (Garry) Niel and Eugene (Christine) Heiser Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews; and her Pomeranian, Sampson, whom she loved deeply.

In addition to her mother, Lugene was preceded in death by her husband of 33 loving years, Barry “Bear” Wiley; and niece, Brittney Niel Kostick.

A visitation in honor of Lugene will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Snyder-Green Funeral Home located at 402 East Church Street, Ligonier, PA. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 15 at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Private interment will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Laughlintown.
