Lynn J. Watkins, born on May 28, 1938, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by hard work, dedication, and a warm sense of humor. For over three decades, Lynn was the manager of the Singer Sewing Center, with locations in Somerset, Bedford, Williamsport, and the Greengate Mall in Greensburg, PA. His commitment to providing excellent service was evident throughout his career.

Alongside his beloved wife, Hazel F. (Hogancamp) Watkins, Lynn co-owned and operated Watkins Market Gas and Groceries for an impressive 50 years. Their partnership in both business and life was founded on love and companionship, having met on a blind date that led to marriage just three months later. Their first date was a joyful experience filled with laughter, as they enjoyed square dancing together.

Family was at the core of Lynn's life, and he cherished spending time with them. He is survived by his wife Hazel and their beloved sons Gary (Kathy) Watkins, as well as William (Stephanie) Whiteside. Lynn was a proud grandfather to Matthew Whiteside, Sarah Whiteside, Krystal Whiteside, and he was also blessed with three great-grandchildren. He shared a strong bond with his siblings, including brother Lloyd (Linda) Watkins and Dalton (Dorothy) Watkins.

Lynn's dedication to community and service extended beyond his family and business endeavors. He was a proud 50-year member of the Ligonier Lodge Free and Accepted Mason #331, Master Mason, and a member of the Williamsport Scottish Rite attaining 32nd degree. His passion for life included a love for the outdoors, particularly deer hunting, and he was an active member of the Ligonier Sportsman Club.

Though Lynn is survived by a loving family, he was preceded in death by his father, Clarence R. Watkins, his mother, Elsie (Walker) Watkins, his daughter, Jackie Watkins and son, Randy (Deborah) Whiteside. He also mourned the loss of his brothers and sister, Erma (John) Lyon, Lester (Freida) Watkins, Earl (Lois) Watkins, Harry (Jane) Watkins, and Jay Watkins.

Lynn J. Watkins will be remembered not only for his many accomplishments but also for the joy he brought to those around him. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, laughter, and unwavering commitment to family and community.
