It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nathaniel Tyler
Hockenberry, who left us far too soon on August 6 , 2025, at the age of 28. Born on April 16,
1997, Nate brought light into the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Nate's spirit was fiercely dedicated to his country, serving honorably in the United States
Marine Corps. He continued his service with the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, as an
Emergency Management Craftsman with the 171st Civil Engineer Squadron and the 111th Civil
Engineer Squadron embodying a sense of dedication and commitment that inspired those
around him. His military service was not just a phase of his life but a testament to his character
— loyal, disciplined, and selfless.
Beyond his responsibilities as an Airman, Nate was a passionate lover of the outdoors. He
extended his enduring enthusiasm for nature through his work with the PA Department of
Conservation and Natural Resources at Neshaminy State Park. He found peace in hiking and
running, embracing the beauty of nature. Nate thrived in these moments of solitude and
adventure. His passion for the outdoors mirrored his humble personality, one that captivated
the hearts of friends and family alike.
Nate will forever be loved and adored by his devoted parents, Daniel and Kelly Hockenberry,
who raised him with love and instilled in him the values of kindness, faith, and integrity. He is
deeply missed by his beloved sister, Sadie Hockenberry, who shared countless memories and
adventures with him, always looking up to him as a guiding light.
He leaves behind his cherished grandparents, Joseph and Janice Hockenberry, and Lee and
Roberta Roehrig, who watched him grow into the remarkable man he became, showering him
with love and wisdom throughout his life. He will also be missed by his many loving aunts,
uncles, and cousins.
As we reflect on Nate’s life, we are reminded of his strong will, his hardworking attitude, his
unwavering determination, and his compassionate heart. Nathaniel Tyler Hockenberry touched
each of us deeply, and while his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to
shine brightly in our memories. A loving son, a devoted brother, a respected serviceman, and a
true friend, Nate’s legacy will endure in the hearts of those who loved him forever.
