Paul Anthony Lucas, born on August 20, 1959, in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, son of the late Anthony "Kipe" and Mary (Churik) Lucas of Leechburg, PA, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 30, 2026.
Paul graduated with High Honors from Kiski Area High School in 1977, where he ran Cross Country and Track. He obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography, Graphics, and Filmmaking from Edinboro State College in 1982, achieving the Dean’s List each semester. Immensely talented and an award winning designer, Paul worked at the Darkroom, Pittsburgh, VOKO, U.S., Office Pavilion Rymaur, and Continental Office Environments. His resourcefulness and extreme attention to detail encompassed all that he pursued in life, including his love of cooking, design, cycling, building bicycles, kayaking, hiking, art, and architecture.
Paul is survived by his wife of 39 years, Valerie (Geary) Lucas and their loving cat, Benita. They met as art students at Edinboro State College. He is survived by a devoted circle of family members: his cherished sister Eileen (Ronald) Blystone; nephews Joseph (Annette) McLeod, Christopher (Amy) Blystone, loving sisters and brothers-in law Marcia (William) Rhoades, Vincent (Denise) Geary, Jacki (Jered Leber) Silberman and Michael (Helen) Geary. Nephews and nieces Ryan (Nina) Rhoades, Sarah (Rick) Stevey, Rebecca (Christopher) Havrilla, Megan (Michael) Brown, Justin (Kristi) Geary; great-nieces and nephews Lilly, Jackson, Jacob, Jayla, Cole and Lily Jo, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held on June 3, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Snyder-Green Funeral Home, located at 402 E Church St., Ligonier, PA 15658. This will be followed by a memorial service at the same location at 4:00 PM., officiated by Rev. Marcia Rhoades. Family, friends, colleagues, and all who were touched by Paul’s life are invited to attend these services and celebrate Paul’s life.
