Rachel Beatrice Kissell, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on February 14, 2026, just days shy of her 96th birthday. Born on February 20, 1930, Rachel was a shining light in the lives of those who knew her, known for her kindness, welcoming spirit, and unwavering faith in God.
She dedicated much of her life to her community as a lifelong member of Christian Church of Waterford. There, she touched countless lives as a youth group leader, sharing her wisdom and faith with younger generations. Additionally, her soulful voice resonated within the congregation as she sang in the choir and embraced the joy of teaching adult Sunday school classes.
Rachel's love for the outdoors shone through in her passions for hunting and fishing, especially fly fishing, activities that often brought her closer to her family and nature. Her adventurous spirit was matched only by her devotion to her family, having co-owned a sporting goods store with her husband, Robert Kissell, where they shared their love for sports and the great outdoors with their community.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Amy Clarke, her son Dan (Dawn) Kissell, her grandchildren Bridget, Gordon (Erica), Ryan(Alexis), and Joshua (Abby), and her great-grandchildren Rachel, Bodie, Everly, and Theo. Each of them carries pieces of Rachel's kindness and strength within their hearts, forever inspired by her remarkable legacy.
Rachel is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert, and her parents, Homer and Jessie Eisaman.
A visitation will be held on February 18, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Snyder-Green Funeral Home 402 E. Church St. Ligonier, PA 15658 where a funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday February 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
As we celebrate Rachel's life, let us remember her gentle spirit, her steadfast faith, and the love that she so generously gave to all.
