Robert L. Clark, a remarkable individual whose kindness and welcoming nature touched the hearts of many, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at the age of 79.
Robert dedicated over 30 years of his career to Standard Steel, where he was respected not just for his work ethic but also for his ability to build relationships with everyone around him. Robert was a proud member of the United States Army, serving his country with honor and dignity. His military service shaped much of the man he became, instilling in him a sense of responsibility to his community and fellow citizens.
A life member of the VFW Post 7622 in New Florence and the Frontier Club in Latrobe, Robert enjoyed being an active participant in various organizations, contributing to his community in meaningful ways. He was also a respected member of the American Legion in Ligonier and the New Baltimore Sportsman's Club, where he built lasting friendships and shared countless memories with fellow veterans and community members.
Robert was a dedicated family man, deeply loved by his wife, Susan Clark, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with love and laughter. He is also survived by his sister Connie Clark and brother Jim (Terry) Clark, alongside many nieces and nephews who adored their uncle and cherished the time spent with him. His loyal dog Charlie was always by his side, offering companionship and joy in Robert's daily life.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Franklin and Sophia Clark, as well as his twin brother, Albert (Janet Surviving) Clark, and his brother, Tom Clark and his loyal companion dog Buster. Their memories lived on in Robert, who often shared stories about them, keeping their spirits alive in the hearts of all who gathered around him.
As we reflect on the life of Robert L. Clark, we remember him not only for his accomplishments but for his unwavering kindness, his sense of humor, and his genuine care for others. His memory will remain a treasured part of the lives of all those fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and commitment that will continue to inspire future generations.
A memorial service will be held on Friday August 8, 2025 at 6 P.M. in New Beginnings Worship Center 1668 Lincoln Hwy, Ligonier, PA 15658 with Miliary Honors to follow.
