Robert W. Hoover Jr.

 

Robert (Bob) Hoover, age 86, of Dublin, Ohio passed away October 27, 2023. Bob was a lifelong resident of the Ligonier/Stahlstown area until moving to Dublin ten years ago. 

 

Bob enjoyed playing golf, reading and hunting. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren; especially at the hockey rink.

 

Bob retired with 44 years of service from Kennametal.  He proudly served in the United States Army.   Bob volunteered a great deal of time in PA with the Chestnut Ridge Fire Department and Meals on Wheels.  

 

He was an active member of the Hilliard Ohio Church of the Nazarene and a former, long-time member of Heritage United Methodist Church in Ligonier. 

 

Bob was preceded in death by parents Robert and Ruthe Hoover.  He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Carolyn Hoover, children Kelli (Chris) Davis of Atlanta GA, Jeff (Kim) Hoover of Columbus OH, Robert Scott (Penny) Hoover of Columbia TN and Jenny (Stephen) Starr of Dublin OH.  Bob is also survived by his caring sisters Mary Ruthe Carnahan and Emily Daneen (Richard) Gosser of Ligonier, grandchildren Andrea, Kate, Brittany, Maggie, Madison, Jake, Luke, Abby and Charlotte as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Family will receive friends Saturday, November, 4, 2023 from 1-2 pm at the Snyder-Green Funeral Home 402 E. Church Street Ligonier, PA 15658; where a memorial service will follow at 2 pm with Irma Hutchinson, a close family friend, officiating.
