Ruth Burdick

Ruth Fletcher Burdick, 89, of Ligonier, passed away June 29, 2024, in the Concordia Ligonier Gardens. 

She was born on May 29, 1935, in Indiana, PA, a daughter of the late Alfred and Odessa (Iscrupe) Fletcher. She was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church. Ruth previously worked as a Ligonier crossing guard for several years and at the Colonial Touch Flower Shop. She loved her family, walking with her sister Joan, eating at Ruthie's, Eat ’N Park and Denny’s, and watching the Hallmark Channel.

Ruth is survived by her son, William H. Burdick (Marjorie) of Fairmont, WV, daughter Barbara B. Jameson (Peter), of Ligonier; grandchildren Heather (Burdick) Hummel (Lee), Christopher Burdick (Miranda), Patrick Jameson (Meghan), and Ellen Jameson (Matthew Russo); three great-grandchildren, Allie, Maddie, and Ethan Hummel; several nieces and nephews and her life-long friend, Audrey Weimer. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, William L. Burdick, a brother, William Fletcher, sisters Betty Waltermire and Frances (Joan) Alexander. 

As per Ruth's wishes, services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Ligonier Valley Library or Westmoreland Food Bank. Interment will be at Ligonier Valley Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Snyder-Green Funeral Home.
